Today's Scenario - A Learning for Tomorrow
According to a report compiled by the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB), in response to a request from the office of the U.N. secretary-general, and convened jointly by the World Bank and World Health Organization (WHO) warns that there is a “very real threat” of a pandemic sweeping the planet, killing up to million people. A deadly pathogen, spread airborne around the world, the report says, could wipe out almost 5 percent of the global economy. And we’re not ready.
It’s a harsh reality; either we are not open to acknowledge it or are complacent in planning for such an outbreak. There is one area, though, where the world isn’t making much progress, and that’s pandemic preparedness, because if history has taught us anything, it’s that there will be another deadly global pandemic
The COVID 19 pandemic has proved it right. The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 192 countries and territories around the world and 1 international conveyance (the Diamond Princess Cruise ship harbored in Yokohama, Japan).
The world needs to prepare for pandemics the way the military prepares for war.
