Position: Manager - Projects
Location: Thane
Reporting To: Plant Manager
Criteria: BTech / BE(Mechanical/Chemical) with 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 4+ years as Project Manager in pharma, chemical manufacturing companies.
Skills:

People Management: Strong interpersonal and technical skills with a collaborative mindset to ensure timely, on-budget project completion.

Technical Expertise: Mechanical Engineer with sound knowledge of project management processes, engineering standards, codes, plant equipment, and best industry practices.

Project Management: Proven ability to monitor and drive projects to meet milestones and completion timelines.

Execution & Coordination: Well-organized with deep understanding of engineering and project execution systems. Skilled in coordinating with workstream leads, consultants, and contractors.

Communication & Tools: Fluent in English, Hindi, and preferably Marathi. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and SAP. Strong written and verbal communication across all levels.
Job Purpose:

Support the Project Manager in Engineering and Construction activities for improvement projects at Thane (Mumbai), aligning with the revised CAPEX reporting structure. Drive effective project planning, scheduling, and monitoring based on defined KPIs, while adhering to PMO guidelines.

Coordinate with the core team, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution with a strong focus on safety, health, environment, and quality.

Establish efficient project execution and coordination systems to enable timely decision-making during the engineering and construction phases.

Compliance to Henkel Standards
Job Responsibilities:
-
Leading and managing Engineering activities for projects, Project conceptualization, scope preparation, feasibility analysis, cost estimation, proposal and execution. Adherence engineering toolbox and other Henkel standards, various international standards and local statutory bodies requirements.

Capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and production flow. Lead the risk assessments & implement process safety compliances for ensuring safe process operations.

Design conceptualization & detailed engineering, planning and scheduling, Resources allocation, execution strategy, plan budget and time frame. Erection and commissioning. Tender / BOQ preparation, floating of the enquiries, project procurement and follow up, coordination with engineering consultants,

Arranging and attending kick-off meetings and onboarding of contractors and early engagement of contractors for smooth and Safety compliance with zero incidents. . On-time and within-budget project delivery.

Leading design of mechanical systems, design optimisation and drawings. Review of offers, making TBA and recommending vendors. Vendor evaluation for safe and timely deliveries.

Execution of production plant systems and packages, commissioning systems entirely and training and handing over the plant to production.

Coordination with internal teams, external consultants and designers, making systems for streamlined communication between all stakeholders and companies involved.

Document control for the project, making and implementing document control systems. Engineering document deliverables as per DCI, engineering document approval after incorporation of comments and regular tracking of document deliverables from Detail engineering company. Expediting engineering activities and approvals, Coordinate with Engineering WorkStream Authority.

Coordination with statutory bodies and meeting their requirements during various approval procedures.

Setting up billing models for various contractors and ensuring proper billing.

Evaluating various sustainability projects and co-ordinating with designers and various agencies. Efficiency improvements in plant operations.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with the project management team and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support .

Work closely with technology personnel to define and settle project engineering scope.

Implement Value Engineering with-out compromising Safety & Technical Integrity.

Support project manager, construction team to resolve technical issues.
-
List out major learning’s during the project execution phases & take corrective measures during future phases of projects implications.
Principle Accountabilities:

Project Management: The job holder will drive projects for site sustainability, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and quality standards.

Troubleshooting and problem analysis: Job holder to do problem Analysis and planning for improving Project management processes in critical measures (reliability, quality, and cost).

Scale up and new processes: Job holder to participate in the development and implementation of major initiatives (scale up, preparing new schemes, capital projects, etc.).

Project Documentation: Job holder to maintain all the relevant documents for easy reference. Document maintained in Share point.
