Position: Manager/Sr Manager-Production(Galvanizing)

Location: Nashik

Reporting To: Department Head

Criteria: BTech/BE in Mechanical with 10+ Years of experience in Galvanizing.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in various materials galvanisations (Forging components, Casting Components, steel fabricated components, Flats, pipes, rods, welded structures, inside /outside threaded components etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of Galvanising processes 7 tanks cleaning process and related chemicals and its MSDS.

  • Knowledge of various galvanising processes passivation’s and hazardous chemicals usages and handling.

  • Sound knowledge of galvanising components inspection and testing methods and requirements (DFT, Scratch tests, Hammer Tests, Copper sulphate tests etc.)

  • Knowledge of galvanising process defects and remedial action plans.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills i.e. 8 D CAPA, Quality Circles, 6 Sigma, 7 QC Tools, Why- Why Analysis etc.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Good knowledge of production planning, resource allocation, and process improvement.

  • Knowledge of quality systems and safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and production reporting tools.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and control daily production activities in the Galvanizing department.

  • Setting up the right processes as per the products and customer requirements with setting up process parameters and product parameters.

  • Ensure galvanizing processes validations and optimization i.e. processes parameters and product parameters.

  • Explore automation in Galvanizing to improve productivity.

  • Minimize Zinc consumptions and dross generations by optimizing the galvanizing processes.

  • Reduce galvanizing cost by optimizing process consumables and electricity saving.

  • Eliminate galvanizing rejections and reworks.

  • Ensure production targets are achieved within defined timelines and cost parameters.

  • Monitor and control manpower, machines and material utilization effectively.

  • Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams for smooth workflow.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on the shop floor.

  • Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly production reports.

  • Ensure proper training and skill development of the team.

  • Drive implementation of lean manufacturing, 5S, FIFO, and Kaizen activities.

Galvanizing - Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee overall Galvanizing process operations.

  • Ensure product category wise process is set and followed to achieve desired coating thickness.

  • Plan and allocate the production priorities based on project priority and capacity.

  • Monitor and control WIP (Work in Progress) to ensure smooth material flow throughout Galvanizing operation.

  • Ensure proper pre-treatment and post-treatments processes are followed to maintain Galvanizing coating thickness and surface finishing.

  • Coordinate with the Production, Central Planning, Design and engineering team for specifications clarifications and technical support.

  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of fabrics on equipment, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Monitor Galvanising consumables and minimize wastage.

  • Ensure daily process parameters are checked and maintained as per the specifications in coordination with the quality team.

  • Implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve productivity.

  • Support new product development and trial runs within the Galvanising shop.
