Job Title           : Furnace Operation Engineer

Department   : Batch and furnace

Location           : Taloja

Criteria:

  • Diploma in Engineering with (Ceramic or chemical) minimum 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of suitable hot repair refractories at end of the campaign.
  • Expose to Furnace hot works like Crown Repair, Burner Blocks replacement.
  • Knowledge of refractory patching and over Coats methods.
  • Installation of furnace cooling equipment like water jackets and sprays.
  • Oil, Gas and Oxy-fuel firing systems.
  • Batch feeding system.
  • Basic knowledge on batch raw materials
  • Bulk material handling system operation

KEY INTERDEPENDENCIES:

  • Direct:  Reports to Platform Leader
  • Internal:  Operations Engineers in Type 30 Platform, Peers, Fabrics Team (customer for Type 30 products), Maintenance Team, EHS Team, Supply Chain Team, Sales & Marketing Team and Finance/IS.

Accountabilities:

Ensure the uninterrupted Furnace operation in shift to deliver Glass as per FFU to Forming. This position involves shift operation to monitor and control specified parameter to ensure the safety and process consistency, coordinating front end operations with forming

DELIVERABLES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensuring manufacturing work practices to conform to the Integrated Operations Management Systems (OMS).
  • Ensure and promote safe and healthy work practices across the platform
  • Operation of Furnace Equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of batch raw materials & Refractories.
  • Operation & Maintenance of fossil or Oxy- firing system in Melter and Front-end. 
  • Operation of E-boost system.
  • Accountable for routine audit and checks to ensure the furnace operation consistency and safety
  • Coordinating the schedule PM activity with Maintenance
  • Basic knowledge on TPM tools.
  • Establishing all process variables and control plan to meet product quality norms
  • Identification and resolution of special cause variation in the Process
  • Analyze trends and finding the root cause for the variation.
  • Understand / Resolve equipment Break Downs issues
  • Following complete work procedures.
