Position : Resident Structural Engineer
Location: Chennai
Reporting : Dy-Technical Manager
Criteria: BE/ME in Mechanical, Automotive, Materials Science, or Structural Engineering with 4+ years of experience in automotive engineering. Preferred experience in BIW, Crash, Durability, NVH, Structural Adhesives, Light weighting, or Vehicle Development. Good understanding of automotive product development processes.
Technical Skills

Job purpose
Will be responsible to serve as the primary technical representative at designated OEM customer locations, supporting the development, validation, and deployment of structural solutions across vehicle platforms.
Will strengthen customer relationships, drive early engagement in vehicle development programs, and facilitate the adoption of Company's structural, light weighting, sealing, reinforcement, and NVH technologies.
Will work closely with OEM engineering teams and Company's global and regional technical organizations to ensure timely technical support, successful program execution, and identification of new business opportunities.
Principle Accountabilities
Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary technical interface between the OEM
- Build strong relationships with customer engineering, purchasing, and program teams.
- Support customer design reviews, workshops, benchmarking, and innovation discussions.
Program Support & Execution
- Support RFQ activities, technical proposals, and concept development.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables and track technical milestones.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer technical issues and requests.
Structural Solution Development
- Identify opportunities for structural adhesives, reinforcement systems, inserts, baffles, and lightweighting solutions.
- Support concept creation, package studies, and feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on solution optimization.
Validation & Deployment
- Coordinate prototype activities, testing, and validation programs.
- Support crash, durability, stiffness, and NVH performance assessments.
- Drive horizontal deployment of validated solutions across platforms.
Business Growth Support
- Identify new application opportunities and platform expansion potential.
- Support business case development and customer value propositions.
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives for target OEMs.
Internal Coordination
- Act as the bridge between OEM teams and Sales, Program Management, Product Development, and Global Engineering organizations.
- Escalate program risks and support mitigation actions.
- Maintain regular reporting on customer activities, opportunities, and program status.
