Position: Operation Engineer – Mechanical (Utilities Operations & Maintenance)
Location: Navi Mumbai
Reporting to : Lead Engineer (Utilities)
Criteria: B.E / B.Tech/ Diploma -Mechanical -3 to 6 years exp in plant utilities & maintenance.
Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of equipment and system performance/failure is essential.
Knowledge of Instrumentation or Electrical systems would be an added advantage.
Accountabilities:
The Operating Engineer is the part of Utility Operations & Maintenance team of Plant Maintenance dept. He will be responsible for the flawless operation of the Utility systems within the plant. He will be required to be vigilant for Utilities in relation to Fibreglass winders, Batch & Furnace, Cake oven, Chemical preparation, Roving, Type 30& Fabrics areas. He needs to operate, monitor & control the same and in event of emergencies like Power outage, flood, etc. he will be the key person responsible to handle the entire plant Utility operations independently.
Deliverables & Key Responsibilities:
- He will be the available resource during shift and will attend to any Utility problems.
- He should know the operations/maintenance of all Utility equipment including HVAC systems (cooling towers, chillers, dehumidifiers, pumps, compressors, etc), air compressors, AHU’s, Diesel Generating sets, DM plant, Boilers,etc.
- Monitoring of Utility operations, energy consumptions (natural gas, power, oxygen, nitrogen, etc)
- Carrying out of Predictive, Preventive maintenance & Breakdown maintenance, planning & execution.
- Work as team member of the shift maintenance group & involve in the problem solving activities in plant.
Duties and Responsibility
- Operations & Maintenance of Utilities.
- Fault diagnosis & rectification, technical skills for sound, cost effective & quality repairs/ overhauling with precision, Problem solving and troubleshooting of plant equipment, monitoring.
- Strong Fundamentals.
- Erection, commissioning and start up of Capital projects / Plant modification jobs.
- Co-ordinate with plant& external agency for predictive, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance and shutdown maintenance in a planned manner & prioritization.
- Indenting and inspection.
- Evaluate bidder’s technical submittals, prepare recommendations, and respond to technical queries and clarification.
- Ensure compliance with Company’s ISO procedures.
- Planning of duties, scheduling of contractor labor.
- ERP (SAP) usages and control.
- To work with & support a team of engineers for carrying out various types of operations & maintenance.
- Preparation of cost estimates, engineering specifications, enquiry documents, technical evaluation of bids etc.
- Utility Operations & Maintenance budget preparation, monitoring & control, expense record & downtime analysis, root cause failure analysis.
- Safety & Statutory compliance & TPM
