Position:  Executive – Mechanical Engineer Shifts and Project Management

Location:  Ankleshwar

Reporting to: Plant Engineer / Shift Manager

Criteria:

  • B.E/ B.Tech (Mech) with 7+ years of experience in manufacturing organisation of repute with independently handling designated Mechanical area.
  • Should be a go-getter with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Preferably from Heavy Process Industries
  • Should be very good in solving the technical problem.
  • Should have project experience.
  • Good at document management

Job Purpose

1.Plan, Organise, coordinate and monitor Mechanical and Reliability activities in plant to achieve maximum availability of Plant at optimum cost & monitor implementation of mechanical engineering related works within the time schedule& budgeted cost to meet the desired improvements. Well versed in maintenance, engineering and reliability of Float Plant, Utilities, Cryogenic Plant and regenerative type of furnace. Good exposure to working with Diesel Generator sets of 2.5 MW and above. Conversant with all types of pumps, compressors, gear boxes, belt conveyors, fans, blowers, Cooling Towers, Batching systems, furnace equipment’s, fabrication lines, Utilities – Natural Gas, LPG, Water treatment etc. Good understanding and exposure to Water Treatment System – Zero Discharge Unit

Objectives/Job Details         

  1. Project and Capex, Management
          • Set up, Sort, copy, scan and store various project documents like drawings, work procedures, risk assessments, cost and scope change records, site contractor documentation etc
  • Tracking of all the document submissions of vendors/other stakeholders and track their responses till closure
  • Manage requests for documentation, Review and maintain the accuracy of the records, editing where necessary to ensure they are up to date
  • To liaise with and distribute project related information with all levels of the project team and potentially external parties
  • Create, coordinate and manage technical BOM's, markups, drawings, specifications, artwork, and samples.
  • Manage all auditing and entry of correspondence including generating submittal packages and transmitting out to subcontractors and owner.
  • Interface with the commercial team, FWR team and the contractors during the RFP and RFI process.
  • Meet with management to update and inform on the documentation schedule, ISO compliance status and documentation progression.
  • Collect and identify documentation from each Unit/Project, place in its correct discipline system, and link to EDMS. Process and record all request for information (RFI) and customer responses to support project development and management.     
  1. Project and Capex execution for defined area
  • Define scope of work as per need.
  • Coordinate capex need and create alternatives and proposal for decision making
  • Project work execution and co-ordination with contractor
  1. Organize and monitor implementation activities for optimum plant availability of all equipment and machineries for Float glass, Mirror Line & Sputter Coater to meet the targeted production and satisfaction of internal customers.
    1. Enhance and promote the Hazards Identification. Emphasize the importance of the Identification and reporting.
    2. Focus on the safe execution of the daily maintenance work (Safe work permit)
    3. Execution of the actions through work processes.
    4. Promote prioritization on Safety over production, incentivizing and giving the tools needed for success
  2. Plan, monitor & control the cost (spare, inventory, repairs & manpower) of mechanical maintenance and optimize maintenance costs within the budget.
  3. Identify, coordinate & monitor implementation of improvements, small projects in order to improve the availability and reduce cost of maintenance.
  4. Build & sustain a conducive work culture by effective management of people to improve productivity, growth and motivation levels of employees to institutionalize best organizing practices in the unit
  5. Conversant with Quality management systems
  6. Should hold excellent technical skills like drawing Study and modification, vendor technical assessment, Calculations, Cost Estimations, project implementation, break down Analysis, Third Party Inspection etc.
  7. Conversant with the concept of Reliability Centred Maintenance and should have knowledge of Predictive & Precise maintenance techniques
  8. Understanding of Control system working – PLC/DCS for Plant operations.
  9. Experience to manage Projects – Mechanical equipment engineering, procurement and installation will be an added advantage.
