Position : MANAGER - R&D and QC
Location : Dahej
Criteria: Ph.D in polymer chemistry or polymer science & technology with M.Sc in organic chemistry with 2 to 5 years hands-on experience in polymer research such as synthesizing of new polymer and polymer characterization technique is essential. Strong knowledge of organic chemical will be desired.
Skills:
- Familiarity with additives & formulation technology particularly in polyurethane industry will be welcome.
- Experience MUST include previous customer interaction and relationship responsibility (i.​e.​ not purely internal R&D experience); curiosity and desire to know more about business as well as technical is also essential, as this is a succession planning position for broader leadership roles.​
- Good knowledge of the application of polymeric materials and design of experiments (DOE) methodology and statistical data analysis is required.​
- Proficiency in utilizing project and technology management platforms
- Knowledge of operations and analysis of instruments for spectroscopy, chromatography is must.
- To monitor and report quality control progress, deviation any specific trend of improvement / deviation to Top Management.
- Comply with all standards as per company’s policy by maintaining, controlling and auditing documents / facility.
- Understanding of product design systems
- Strong critical thinking skills are essential
- Well versed in acquiring scientific information.
- Strong Leadership skills
- Enterprising nature will be added advantage
JOB Description:
Research & Development
- Development of new polymers particularly, Polyethers & Polyesters and finding various applications for the same.
- Development of formulations according to final applications.
- Coach, mentor and lead dynamic product strategy and product development team to deliver high quality products.
- Support to customer / marketing sales team by providing technical services / troubleshooting / technical presentation
- Interface between production & R&D team for scale up trouble shooting & process improvement / optimization of work.
- Primary, technical contact to customers to understand business needs, develop new technologies, reinvent existing technologies and participate in new platform and continuous improvement ideas and initiatives to maintain and provide sales growth;
- Builds strong and cohesive relationships with customers to develop knowledge of the technical requirements for customer products and processes;
- Provides customers with best-in-class technical service and support;
- Stays informed of global technical trends specific to segment;
- Speaks at conferences and actively participates in industry committees and groups;
- Effectively shares technical knowledge, develops sales tools, assist in writing TDS & MSDS and provides training to commercial and technical teams;
- Provides strategic direction and clear, concise, and consistent feedback to technical teams for necessary technology changes and/​or improvements;
Quality Assurance:
- QA Strategy: Development of quality strategy to help drive excellence across all products and the overall platform.
- Define and implement testing methodology that incorporate best practices for a new systems and current system enhancements.
- Daily monitoring of the Quality System process to insure that the methods are being followed. Constant reinvestment in regression testing procedures, test plans and staff education.
- Maintain a level of knowledge on the internal systems in order to provide support to QC staff
