Position: Assistant Manager Purchase 

Location: Adas, Gujarat

Reporting To: Sr. Manager – Purchase

Reportees: 2

Criteria: B.E. Mech/ Plastics Eng/ MBA with min 4 Years job experience in purchase function preferably in consumer goods industries.

Specific skills and knowledge: 

  • Strong in SAP (Purchase & MRP Modules).

  • Proven negotiation skill.

  • Strong interpersonal skill

  • Proactive attitude for solving problems in a shorter time period.

  • Fast learner and adaptable on different site conditions.

  • Anticipation skill.

  • Very good at Microsoft office productivity tools like Excel, word, power point, Outlook, one notes.

Job Purpose:

Will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all direct materials (Raw Materials, Pigments, co-pack, semi bought outs) right from ordering to maintaining desired inventory levels. Ensures that the product is delivered on the right time to the right places with right quality and cost effectiveness. Works closely with the Planning, Production, R & D, Quality, Warehouse and Finance Team for efficient and effective purchase operations.

Interactions (Internal & External)

  • Planning Team – Production and sales plant.

  • External Suppliers, Vendors.

  • Warehouse - Production & Sales plant

  • Marketing KAM (Key account manager).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely delivery of all direct materials to the production line without line and flow disturbance. 

  • Managing inventory levels of supplies material via trade offs and balances to minimize inventory costs and space utilization.

  • SAP MRP culture driven approach for effective and productive decisions on an operational basis as well as for the replenishment process.

  • Timely booking of invoices, Payables, purchase returns to suppliers, purchasing parameters set up in SAP, purchasing data hygiene maintained in SAP ERP.

  • Supplier agreements, Negotiation on delivery, prices , MOU Qty’s on operational basis.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in stock take activities as well as subcontractors materials/moulds reconciliation as per accounting need.

  • To Study existing Purchase life cycle process and to propose best possible cycle for effective run of purchase function.

  • Participate in QA16 Suppliers assessments/audits and ensure suppliers are meeting the required criteria.

  • Responsible for the achievement of departmental KPIs like PO TAT (turn around time), OTD(On time delivery) , OOS (out of stock situation) etc.

  • Management of the team ensures high performance and productivity.
